Character Design | Week 10: Live One Day Challenge

Week 10 of Character Design we were split into groups, and given the challenge of creating a new character (one per person in each respective group), and one merchandise toy for that existing world (i.e. 'Noddy Toyland Detective' 2016).
We brainstormed a potential episode wherein we could create relevant characters. While at first we considered redesigning characters from the original series, we instead designed for an 'Easter Special' episode. The plot would be a hunt for a hen's missing eggs. In true 'detective' fashion, Noddy goes around Toyland; asking the flowers Tulip and Daffodil for advice, and working with the Easter Bunny so to find the missing eggs.
We find eventually that Smartysaurus's child is responsible, having naively collected the eggs believing they were the chocolate ones. The mystery is resolved, and all is well in Toyland.

I was responsible for designing the hen- a tin wind-up toy. She was to be a worrisome, kind but dappy character, and thus the patterns from existing wind up toys was used to enforce that. The eyes typical of Noddy Toyland's characters was also used to better fit the character into this universe.
