Acting | Assessment Preparation [Part 2]

The groups 2nd meeting was spent finalising the details of the scene, (I.e. the cues, lines and positions of each character throughout), so to appeal to the audience; we asked Graeme and Alexis to watch from both the middle and sides to ensure everything action/line is visible at any given point throughout.

Updated Layout
Above is the updated layout for the scene, with the hallway giving Amanda more time to make it obvious she's looking around for her mother, and the sink facing the audience, so that it's not such a stretch to hear or see when I deliver the required line: "I've got to get through this".

Below is the script, and our cues for each character, word from word. There's places to breath a little in terms of what feel's appropriate at the time, but enough structure to keep the group certain on what we need to do.

Lastly, our characters were fleshed out more in regards to 'status', with Amanda being of low status around her mother at the beginning, but after collecting herself becoming the bigger person, and choosing independence. The mother starts of high status as an intimidating presence within the household, but finishes with no one to intimidate but herself, and the dishes.

We plan on meeting once more this coming Monday to refresh the details in our minds, and to get more comfortable with the performance before Wednesday's assessment.
