Clay Sculpting | Week 2
Lesson 2 has us starting to flesh out the character using the super sculpey modelling clay. The head required a lot of this clay, so next time I aim to work more with the foil to flesh it out more. I was reluctant to do so initially, as I worried it might protrude through the skull. If i was to bend the wire forward more, though, there might have been more leeway to fill out the form.
I've started establishing the basic shapes of the face, but need to work more into the width, the cheek bones, the eye sockets so the eye lies more within the skull (it looks a little bug-eyed at the moment), smooth the structure out some more without losing the structure detail, and begin with the lips, eyebrows, hair and shoulders.
